About Us

Mary Wilson Memorial Union Church

We extend a warm welcome to anyone who seeks to be strengthened in their walk of faith. We are an inclusive community comprised of members and friends from many church backgrounds.

According to our constitution, "This church recognizes the Holy Bible as the sufficient guide of Christian faith and practice, and holds that living in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ is the true test of vital church membership. As a Church of Jesus Christ, we recognize the value of confessions of faith such as the ancient and common creed of Christians known as the 'Apostles' Creed'; however, each member of this church shall have the undisturbed right to follow the Word according to each member's own conscience, under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit."

Our congregation has a Covenant with St. Mary's Stony Hill Roman Catholic Church, Watchung, which expresses our strong ecumenical perspective.

We are related to other Christian congregations through our membership in the International Council of Community Churches, The Consultation on Church Union, and The National Council of Churches.
